American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) 
ABIH provides a professional certification program in the practice of industrial hygiene.
Evergreen Safety Council 
A private, non-profit, non-governmental organization that promotes safety and healthy behaviors on the job, in our homes, and in all parts of our lives.
Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) 
Federal enforcement agency responsible for the health and safety of the nation's miners.
National Safety Council (NSA) 
Educates and influences society to adopt safety, health and environmental policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic losses arising from preventable causes.
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 
The federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness. NIOSH is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Department of Health and Human Services
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 
OSHA's mission is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health.
Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) 
The state equivalent of OSHA, which is administered by the federal government. The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) — not OSHA — is responsible for workplace safety and health regulations in Washington State. DOSH develops and enforces rules that protect workers from hazardous job conditions.
